I was one of the earliest members of Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s premier climate-oriented organizations, the Climate+ Challenge. Our mandate was to provide climate-related resources for instructors across the university to use in their classes, provide lists of courses with climate change material for students to view, and push the culture of KPU as a whole towards prioritizing sustainability.
Along with Tracy Sherlock and Ellen Pond, I worked to get the organization off the ground by drawing attention and generating interest amongst students and staff.
I created the organization’s pubic website and most of the pages, including blog posts, an FAQ page, and Contact Us forms.

Over the years I also created content for the Climate+ Challenge’s Instagram page, where we initiated a social media strategy that included a giveaway and coverage of events. Check out one example here!
In my final stretch with the organization, I originated the student committee within it by giving presentations to classes, networking with other committees at KPU and externally, and leading meetings. Take a look at my presentation below!
I am proud of the work I did and what we accomplished at the Climate+ Challenge, and I am thrilled to watch their future success as well.
